Miles for Marnie

Miles for Marnie is a 5K race and a kids fun run event.  The Marnie Jude Foundation organizes the race to raise money and awareness for Childhood Cancer Research.

The events originate from Davidson Elementary School in Davidson, NC.

Timing

Davidson Timing, LLC, will provide race timing.  Timing chips will be attached to race bib and are disposable.  Results can be located on the Davidson Timing website www.davidsontiming.com.

We are collecting items to be distributed to the Blume Clinic and Hemby Children’s Hospital.  Please consider bringing one or more of these items to the race.

The 5K race starts at the school and runs up South Street to Spring Street.  Spring street includes a downhill section that ends at a 90 degree turn.  You will then run up Woodland Street and turn right onto Lorimer Road.  Follow Lorimer Road, including a left-right jog in the road to Pine Road.  Turn right onto Pine Road.  A water station is provided at the intersection of Pine Road and Avinger Lane.  You will run down the right side of Pine Road to the water station.  You will cross to the left side of the road for the water station and continue down Pine Road on the left side of the street.  At the turn around, please run up Pine Road on the left side of the road.  This eliminates a crossover of runners turning onto Avinger Lane.  At the intersection of Avinger Lane and Pine Road, you will turn left and follow Avinger Lane to the Davidson Greenway.  Veer left onto the greenway and follow the beautiful path back to the school.  At the school, turn right onto South Street to the finish line.

The kids fun run is held at the Tigers on the Prowl track at Davidson Elementary School.  Six laps around the track equals a mile.  Children and Adults are welcome to participate in the kids fun run.
