Description
The 16th Annual JBRR, presented by the Albemarle Foundation in partnership with the Kings Mountain Family YMCA, is fun for all your family and friends, with a 5k, 10k, and Kids Fun Run!
When: Saturday, December 2nd at 9:00 am.
Where: First Baptist Church, 605 W. Kings Street, Kings Mountain, NC
Why: Proceeds benefit the "We Build People" scholarship fund.
Events: 5k @ $25, 10k @ $30, Kids Fun Run @ $10 and Phantom Dasher @ $25. Prices will increase after November 21st so register early.
The "We Build People" scholarship fund makes YMCA programs and services available to those who may need various levels of financial assistance. Whether its single moms, kids needing after school, summer camp, sports programs or seniors needing a place to remain active. This fund helps ensure the Y is accessible to EVERYONE.
What is a "Phantom Dasher"?. The Phantom Dasher donates to the cause and receives a T-Shirt, but doesn't run.
Want extra motivation and coaching to run your best 5k? Register for our fun training program! We will provide you with an easy to follow program to boost your performance, and you can meet once a week with one of our running trainers and the 5k training running group for that extra encouragement and insight to help you be your best on race day! The program runs 8 weeks during Oct. & Nov leading up to the race, and it’s only $10 to participate.
NEW THIS YEAR!
All fun run and race participants under age 10 will receive an inflatable guitar so they can rock out this years run in style! These will also be for sale for $1 so all you "big kids" can get one too and enjoy the fun!
Pre-Race Yoga led by Rhonda Waterhouse, owner of Daisy Yoga in KM, will begin at 8 am.
To make this a truly "Rockin Run" we're looking for musicians who would like to motivate runners and show off their talents by performing energetic music at designated places on the race course. Contact Daron Dwyer for details at ddwyer@clevecoymca.org. Daisy
Great awards for Top 3 Overall Winners and the following Age Groups: 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 +.
Early Packet Pickup will be at First Baptist on Friday, December 2nd from 3-7:30 pm.
Race Day Pickup/Registration will OPEN at 7 am and close promptly at 8:30 am.
