Proceeds:  All proceeds of this 5K fundraiser will support “Pennies for Pigs”, a mission project started eight years ago by the youth of Macedonia United Methodist Church in the Abner Community. Between 2008 – 2014, the youth provided over $13,500 to Zoe Ministries, which helped orphaned children in Rwanda, Kenya, and Zimbabwe to purchase pigs as a way to earn money for their household. In 2016, the proceeds of the Pennies for Pigs 5K will benefit “Faith in Vision”, a local non-profit based out of Seagrove that sponsors needy children at Christmas in the three-counties of Randolph, Montgomery and Moore. This 5K was started in 2013 as a school project for one of the youth members of Macedonia UMC. The youth are continuing this 5K in order to fund their missions outreach.
