Description

Lace up your sneakers, put on your blue, and get ready to race for child abuse prevention!
The Metropolitan Child Advocacy Coalition’s Child Abuse Prevention Council is hosting its 3rd annual “Race for Prevention of Child Abuse”. Festivities will start on Saturday, April 8th at 10:30a.m. The race will commence following the mayoral proclamation and 1k Kids Fun Run. Walkers are welcome! The mayor of Council Bluffs and the mayor of Omaha will be reading a proclamation against child abuse in the middle of the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. This should only take a few minutes. Once the proclamation is completed, the 1k Kids Fun Run will begin. The 5k will commence once the kid runners have completed their route.
This fun family event will begin at the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge on 705 Riverfront Dr. Omaha, NE 68102. Parking will be available and volunteers will direct runners to open parking areas. Awards will be given for the top three runners for each gender, including top three prizes for the kids. Don’t think that you’ll be the fastest? No problem because participants are able to walk if they chose. Be sure to wear blue in support of child abuse prevention.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Proceeds of this run will go to child abuse prevention efforts in the community.
