Rally Round the Valley Duathlon & 5K Run

This event is situated on the expansive historical Rockaway Valley Airdrome Park known as Johanson Memorial Park and also known for General Jimmy Dolittle's first instrumental landing in 1929.  Other historical moments were cast there as well.  The Township of Boonton is home of the first area duathlon; flat and fast grass 2 mile run followed by a 12 mile flat and fast bike ride and back to the 2 mile grass run starting at 8:30 a.m. for both teams and individuals at the park pavillion.  A wheel measured 5K run starting at 10:30 a.m. located at the park has great spectator appeal; home course for running clubs, many lacrosse and outdoor family programs.  Awards for 10 year age groups in both Duathlon and 5K.  Free beer/drink ticket offered with great amounts of entertainment, music, family fun....and mingle with the community Oktoberfest from 12 - 6 p.m. following the 5K awards.  Racer parking is at 429 Rockaway Valley Rd toward the close to the field.  Race Day Registration is available starting at 7a.m.  Photo ID is needed.  ONLINE REG CLOSES FRIDAY 6 P.M.
