Etta Jane "EJ" Heiser Memorial 5K & 1 Mile Family Fun Walk

The Friends of the Gloucester County Library System (FGCLS) is proud to announce the inaugural Etta Jane Heiser Memorial 5k Run and 1 Mile walk on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the Chestnut Branch Park in Mantua, NJ at 9:00am.  Etta Jane “EJ” Heiser was a dedicated Friend of GCLS and treasurer for years.  This race is to honor her and the Friends of the Library.

(8:00am day of registration and packet pick-up)

Pre-registered 5K: $25

Pre-registered 5K for ages 13 and under: $20

Pre-registered Walk fee: $20

Day of 5K race fee: $35

Day of 5K race for ages 13 and under fee: $30

Day of Walk fee: $30

T-shirts guaranteed to the first 100 registrants for the walk or run.  After that, while supplies last.  

Awards begin at 10:30am. They are offered for top 3 overall and top person in each age group categories. Age group categories are 13 and under, 14-17, 18-40, and 40 and up.

Packet pick-up will be at the Mullica Hill Branch on Thursday, September 29th from 5-8pm; Friday, September 30th from 1-4pm; and Saturday, October 1st from 10am-2pm. The address for the Mullica Hill Library is 389 Wolfert Station Road, Mullica Hill, NJ 08062. 

The Friends of the Gloucester County Library System (FGCLS) is group of volunteers who raise money to help sustain and fund GCLS projects and spread awareness of library services. By planning this fundraising event, we are pleased to recognize the work, dedication, and support of Etta Jane and the FGCLS. All proceeds from the race will benefit the Friends of GCLS, which in turn benefit library users. Examples of funded projects include, but are not limited to, museum passes, summer reading materials, AWE learning computers, furniture, and more.
