We'll be honest, 2020 has been a tough year for everyone--but the need for clean water in South Sudan is more important than ever. Water is life, and access to it means women can start small businesses to support their families, girls can attend school, and communities can improve their overall health and economy.
You can provide clean water to people in South Sudan. All of us, walking together as a global community, will help a South Sudan village receive a new well and clean, safe water ($15,000). If we reach our goal, everyone participating in the event will receive photos of the well once complete.
How can you help? Register today and create a fundraising page. Share your fundraising page with family, friends, and connect on Facebook. No matter how far you walk, everyone is contributing to the same goal. You can make a difference!
Select from the distance goals below during registration:
Please remember these are accumulated totals. You can complete your distance goal over several weeks or two months. Choose your own activities for your challenge; they all count toward your overall distance goal. Raise money to earn badges, learn about South Sudan, and view exclusive content on your journey.
Are you a member of a school or community group participating in the Iron Giraffe Challenge? In addition to registering for the virtual walk, participation in the Iron Giraffe Challenge requires registration through the WFSS website. Click here to register for the 2020-21 IGC. All funds raised through the virtual walk platform will count towards your pledge goal.
The 2020-2021 Iron Giraffe Challenge calls on schools and community groups to each raise a minimum of $1,000 as an entry into a prize drawing for a chance to win a visit with Salva Dut. Schools and groups that raise $1,000 or more will be entered into the drawing to win one of several incredible prizes:

How will donations provide clean water?
Whether you decide to fundraise or make a donation, all funds raised through this event will support our projects in South Sudan (new well drilling, well rehabilitation, hygiene training, and COVID-19 awareness training). We work in rural South Sudanese villages where access to clean water is not available.
