Description
The Northport Running Club's Tough Cookie 8K is a challenging and fun race entirely on trails in Sunken Meadow State Park, followed by a raffle and holiday cookie fest. Bring your own favorite recipe or just enjoy cookies made by local bakeries, and our race volunteers.
Slow runners and fast walkers welcome.
All net proceeds are donated to local charities. Past recipients include the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference, The Ecumenical Lay Council Northport Food Pantry, Maggie's Mission, Salvation Army of East Northport, Ronald McDonald House of Manhattan, and Long Island Cares.

Race Details
This is an 8K (5 mile) trail race set in one of the most beautiful locations on Long Island. The run is mostly on trails. The course starts down at sea level but takes you through a scenic tour of the park with striking views of the Long Island Sound from the cliffs on the way back to the finish. This is the only race on Long Island with cookies at the water stops, free professional race photos by Long Island Runner Photos (LIRP), and post race cookies. A race not to miss! Start is 10:00am sharp rain or shine from Sunken Meadow State Park, parking field 3. Refunds will not be distributed. All net proceeds donated to local charities.

Registration and Bib Pickup Options
Early bib pickup will be available at Smithtown Running Company the day before the event from 11am to 5pm. (91 E Main St. Smithtown, parking in the back off of Bellemeade Ave.)
Bib pickup and late registration will be available on race morning from 8:30-9:45am on site. Online registration closes at 3pm on 12/3/22.
Late registration costs $30
All participants will receive a fleece headband with registration, while supplies last
IMPORTANT
Place your Bib on your CHEST OR ABDOMEN FACING FRONT, Not the side or on your back!
The photos on RunSignUp will be easily searchable by your name or Bib# if your Bib# clearly shows in the photo.

Awards
Awards will be given to the top three finishers in Open Male and Female, Masters Male and Female, and the top three finishers in 5-year
age groups.
