Race Location
Race HQ is at Powder Horn Lodge in Powder Mills Park. Parking will be available in the area surrounding the lodge. Restrooms are available in the lodge.
Course
The course is a one mile trail loop through Powder Mills Park. The first tenth of a mile runs across the open field towards the creek. At that point there is a bottleneck as the course turns onto a narrow stretch of single track and a little kicker of a hill. After that the trail widens and rolls through the park. The last quarter mile is a gentle downhill on wide trails that should add some pep to your finish.
Transition Area
The start and finish lines are right next to Powder Horn Lodge, separated by a a space that we will use as a transition area. Weather permitting, we will use this transition area for an aid station stocked with:
- Water
- Skratch Labs Hydration (lemon-lime and orange)
- Gu Energy gels (vanilla bean, chocolate outrage, tri-berry, strawberry-banana, salted caramel, and raspberry lemonade)
- Fruit (bananas, oranges, and apples)
- Candy
- And more!
Athletes can also use this area to store their own hydration, fuel, and additional gear. If conditions are damp, we will move the transition area into the lodge.
Post-Race Activities
After you get unceremoniously booted from the race, come hang out at Powder Horn Lodge and cheer on the surviving runners. Post-race awesomeness will include:
- Past-race BBQ with hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and fruit.
- Beer from Strangebird along with a wide selection of non-alcoholic options like soda, chocolate milk, and Athletic brew.
- Awards for the top overall male and female.
- Random giveaway of gift cards, race entries, and merch.
