Description
UPDATE 2!!! Bound for the Hounds is now completely virtual! When you register, make sure your address is complete and accurate so I can get your finisher's medal to you when you have completed your run!
UPDATE!!! There is now a virtual option! Run anytime the weekend of November 21-22 and submit your results! The registration fee remains the same to account for the mailing of your awesomely spectacular finisher's medal handcrafted by a local artisan! Other than postage, your fee still goes to support the dog park! You can choose to run the trail in Shortsville/Manchester on Sunday if you'd like to participate without a crowd or create your own route wherever you'd like. You have up to 6 hours to run and/or walk as much or as little as you'd like!
The 2nd Annual Bound for the Hounds 6 Hour Ultra is still set to be a live, in-person event! Funds raised are used support our free local dog park created by volunteers and local contributors. Runners and walkers will have 6 hours to complete as many 2.3 mile loops of the Manchester Gateway Trail as they choose. The trail is flat and is road shoe friendly. Your canine companions are welcome as long as they are on a leash at all times! There will be precautions in place to keep our runners and volunteers safe and will be outlined as we get closer to race day but know that masks will be needed at the start/finish and any time you can't keep 6 ft. distance from others. There will be an aid station for all participants with mostly pre-packaged items and you will have plenty of space to set up your own private aid station.
Answers to FAQs.
Yes, we are still set to be live and in person. Only way that will change is if NYS reduces the crowd size on us before race day.
If we have to cancel, you can request a refund (minus processing fees) or donate to the dog park.
Parking is right near the start/finish.
There is a porta-potty next to the trail and a gas station on either end of the loop that you can use.
Swag is a handcrafted medal from a local artisan. The giveaway section makes it sound like there are different sizes but there are not. I couldn't explain it better but wanted to make sure you knew you wouldn't walk away empty handed.
