DIRTY PAWS & CLAWS 2X5K RELAY Benefitting the DCSPCA

Whether you're team cat or team dog... a road runner or a trail runner... Sneaker Mutt and Eastern Dutchess Road Runners Club invite you to lace up and use your feet to help paws! 

What's the Dirty Paws & Claws 2X5K Relay?

The Dirty Paws and Claws 2X5K Relay combines road running with trail running. Teams of two will complete a 10K course, broken into two 5K legs. The first leg is a 5k road race (Runner #1) and the second leg is a 5k trail race (Runner #2).  Runner #1 will hand off a team baton to Runner #2 in an exchange zone to connect the two 5K legs. This race is limited to 60 TEAMS of 2 runners (any combination of age/gender).

This is a chip timed, Team FUN-RUN, with a gun start. Ranking Results are based on teams OVERALL time: the combined duration of Leg 1, the Exchange Zone & Leg 2. Timing starts at the GUN and STOPS when RUNNER 2/Leg 2 passes over the FINISH LINE.  Runners are not timed individually. We encourage you to use a personal timing device for an un-official time of your 5K Leg. 

Registration *IMPORTANT*

Registration fee covers BOTH runners on a team. Teams are made up of 2 runners, any combination of age/gender.  At the time of registration Teams are required to have a team name (make it paw-some!)  One team member will be responsible for registering both team members. You will need to have your teammates info ready: address, email, phone# and shirt size ladies cut/unisex/no shirt options.

RAINBOW BRIDGE CHEER WALL:  Giving to the Rainbow Bridge Cheer Wall is a very special way for you and friends to support the DCSPCA, honor a furry friend(s) and cheer on the runners using their feet to help paws! A CHEER ribbon will be made in the honor/memory of all the furry friend(s) listed with a donation. All ribbons will be displayed at the Rainbow Bridge Cheer Wall the day of the race! QUESTIONS???

CAN I RUN WITH MY DOG? No! Dogs can't run in the race. 

CAN I BRING MY DOG? Yes! Wilcox Park is dog friendly. Dogs must be leashed at all times, are not allowed in water areas, and are to be cleaned up after. 

HOW HILLY IS THIS RACE?  Wilcox Park has hills. It is a challenging race, but coming together as a running community to raise money for our furry friends at the DCSPCA is what makes so much fun.
