It’s About Childhood & Family, Inc. is a not-for-profit clinical and resource center dedicated to enhancing the quality of childhood and family life in our communities.  The mission of IACAF is to provide easily accessible trauma informed therapeutic services and programming for children and families; focusing on their potential for growth, their strength, and resilience to bring about healing through innovative, holistic, and solution focused services. Our vision is to foster communities where children are able to experience the joys of childhood; discover purpose in their lives; and develop the coping skills necessary for overcoming life's challenges.

This USTAF-certified (NY23068DNB) 5k course will start and finish at the Syracuse Inner Harbor (Solar St. & W. Kirkpatrick St.). This is a mostly flat and fast course and will go through Franklin Square and onto Creek Walk. The Children’s Run is a 2k course.

The Syracuse Parks Conservancy joins the Syracuse Parks Department to bring you Syrathon 2024!  SYRATHON brings together 8 established road races, all based in the City of Syracuse and spaced throughout the calendar year, into this unique road race series! Syrathon’s eight race routes showcase Syracuse’s incredible and historic parks systems as participants journey through a number of wonderful city neighborhoods. Since 2009, the Series has encouraged, for both beginners and seasoned runners, healthful physical activity year-round, while promoting the sights and sounds of city life!  In 2020 and 2021, Syrathon adapted to the challenges of Covid-19 with both virtual and in-person races, but in 2022, we are excited to return to our traditional Series with a full schedule of races! 
 
The Syrathon Series Challenge again will challenge registered participants to accumulate at least 26.2 race miles over the course of the Series. Those who meet the challenge are known as Syrathoners, and will have earned the coveted Syrathon Medal!  All registered participants receive a cool race shirt!  And, there will be race day raffles for more great prizes!

Brexialee "Brexi" A. Torres Ortiz  (October 7 2011 - January 16 2023)

Brexi was a 6th grade student at Stem @ Blodgett Middle School where she was an honor student, president of her class, loved math, dancing, and hugs.  Brexi was everyone's cheerleader, best friend and willing to help anyone in need.  She was protective of her sisters, loved family time, cooking and laughed with her whole heart. Brexi was a child full of life and will be remembered as a ray of sunshine everywhere she went.  Her family and friends said that you could see how much Brexi cared about others, and she showed it every day.
