Description
Paul's Race for Recovery: 5K
A community comes together to raise awareness and prevent opioid addiction
In partnership with the Troy Drug Free Community Coalition, this family friendly race/walk is in remembrance of Paul Connors.
Paul struggled with addiction most of his adult life. Paul was a loving father to his 2 sons. He was raised in Lansingburgh. After being clean for over a year and a half, Paul suffered a relapse that he couldn't overcome. Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase a bench to place in Oakwood Cemetery in remembrance of Paul, in addition to a donation to the Troy Drug Free Community Coalition to assist in community prevention and education, as well as creating a culture of support for those in need and those in recovery.
Our goal for Paul’s Race for Recovery is to raise awareness and lower the stigma surrounding this disease. If just one person is saved, or a conversation started, our goal will have been reached.
