UMFS is an unwavering champion for high-risk children and families, collaborating with communities to help them reach their full potential. Since its inception in 1900, UMFS has done whatever it takes to meet the changing needs of the communities it serves. Today, UMFS programs include: treatment foster care, adoption, special education at its Charterhouse School, residential treatment, and in-home family services. In 2017, UMFS directly served over 3,000 children from 177 communities in Virginia. Proceeds from Nutzy’s Rotary Funn Run will support Career & Technical Education programs, including Courage to Succeed, provided by UMFS’ Charterhouse School in Richmond. Funds also will help purchase gifts for kids at Christmas.
