We are sad to report that due to the current Coronavirus trends, the city has been forced to decline approval for the Bill Wilch Memorial 5K this Saturday. While this is very sad news for the in person event, the run must go on!
We have decided to make our 5K virtual this year. Registration will remain open from now until 9AM Saturday, July 11th. You will then be able to run a 5K on your own time for one week, ending at 9AM on July 19th. We are also creating a one page completion banner with our hashtag for you to post a picture of yourself holding after finishing your 5K. This will allow us all to share our experience via social media.
You can run the 5K on any course, path, or street you wish, just make sure to record your time!! On July 12th, you will receive an email with instructions on how to upload your time. After all times are compiled we will mail race completion and finisher medals directly to the address you submitted with your registration. Make sure to upload your time by July 19th!
Team Fastrax will still perform the opening ceremony flag jump dedicated to our fallen. You can tune in to our Facebook Live broadcast from the Blue Skies account around 9AM Saturday. https://www.facebook.com/blueskies3g/
