|Hale Harvest 5K Run/Walk||
Time9:15AM EDT - 12:00PM EDT
The Hale Harvest 5K, part of Hale Farm & Village's Harvest Festival, benefits InHale, an educational initiative that uses historic and natural resources to offer innovative experiences that promote sustainable agriculture, civic leadership, education and recreation. The course invites runners and walkers to experience the natural beauty of Hale Farm & Village, as you run along nature trails, past historic houses, through farmyards and rural pastures. Hale Farm & Village is a non-profit 501 c3.
The top three finishers overall and the top male and female finishers per category receive hand-crafted pieces from Hale Farm & Village’s Early American Craft and Trade artisans. Hale Harvest 5K T-shirts are offered for adult runners who sign-up before September 8.
The annual Harvest Festival Weekend is a fall tradition for Northeast Ohio families and schoolchildren. Celebrate the fall bounty amid the sights and sounds and tastes of Hale Farm & Village. See foods prepared and preserved for winter. Use antique farm equipment to press apple cider, grind and shell corn, make – and taste – apple butter, and enjoy old fashioned popcorn.
The Hale Farm barnyards are alive with harvest activities and animals, including chickens, oxen, hogs, and sheep. Other activities include pumpkin painting, wagon rides through the grounds, a huge pile of hay and samples and tastes of the fall season. This weekend celebration, full of fall fun the whole family will enjoy, takes place rain or shine! Admission includes festival activities as well as traditional Hale Farm crafts & trades demonstrations.
Strollers are permitted, however the course is not necessarily stroller friendly. It is a beautiful run through the village, sugar bush, pasture and along gravel trails and grass.
No pets are allowed; only service animals are permitted. Thank you!
