The “Run for Hope” 5K Walk/Run will start at Harvest Baptist
Church (1301 Navajo Trail, Wapakoneta, Ohio 45895). Preregistration
for this event will begin at 8:00am on Saturday,
April 27th. Race will begin at 9:00am.
This 5K takes place rain or shine, reminding us that millions of
people all over the world must travel in a variety of weather
conditions just to get water. The distance of this 5K represents
the distance that many men, women, and children walk every
day to collect water for their family.
In Africa, women walk an average of three to four miles per day
just to collect water from a lake or other body of water. These
people then travel miles carrying at least one 40-pound jug to
their homes. This water may not even be clean, causing illness
and even death.
This race is for women & men of all ages and abilities, whether
you run, jog, skip, walk or roll. 100% of the proceeds will go
towards providing water filters for people in Kenya.
$100 cash prize for top male & female runner with
medals for top runners in each age group.
