About Amanda and Her Run:
Amanda Shankle was loved by everyone and she loved everyone. In 17 short years, with an amazing smile on her face, she made a mark on the world that most people would hope to do in a lifetime. Although a fight with Leukemia took her life in 2012, her spirit lives on today in everyone that knew her.
She is also remembered through the Amanda Shankle Scholarship Fund which is annually awarded to a Hulbert High Senior. On November 4th, Amanda's Run 5k and Fun Run will be held to as a benefit to support the scholarship fund. The 5th Annual Amanda's Run will bring together friends and family of Amanda and many area runners to have a good time and pay tribute to Amanda's life. Whether you want to walk the 1 Mile Fun Run or run the 5k, please make plans to be a part of special event on Saturday, November 4th.
When: Saturday, November 4th, 2017 at 8:00 am (5k starts at 8:00, Fun Run will start a few minutes later)
Where: First Baptist Church Hulbert - 126 E 5th St Hulbert, OK - Directions from Tulsa: Take the Muskogee Turnpike to Highway 51 and exit east towards Wagoner. Proceed on HWY 51 to Broadway St in Hulbert and turn right and FBC will be on your left., From Muskogee: Take HWY 69 north to Wagoner and turn east on to HWY 51. Proceed on HWY 51 to Broadway St in Hulbert and turn right and FBC will be on your left. From Tahlequah: Take Hwy 51 (Choctaw St) west out of town and proceed to Broadway St in Hulbert. Turn left and FBC will be on your left.
Cost: $20 for 5k and Fun Run pre-registration though October 23rd and that includes a event t-shirt. You must sign up by October 23rd to get a t-shirt. Very few extra shirts will be ordered for those who register after Oct 23rd to race day. Race day registration cost is $25.
Packet Pickup/Registration: Friday night before the race (Nov 3rd) at FBC Hulbert from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Runners can also pickup their packet starting at 6:30 on race day. Late registration for $25 will also be available on Friday night and Saturday morning.
Awards: Medals will be awarded to top 3 male and female in each USATF (every 5 years) 5k age group.
