This is an out-and-back 10K course that will be run "Time Trial Style" through the Fanno Creek Regional Trail. We will start runners between 7:00 am and 9:00 am in groups of 5-or-less, and runners can run whenever they want. The course and finish line will close at 10:30 am. The race is chip-timed by Huber Timing.
Day of Race registration will be $40. No ORRC discount is available day of race.
The 2018 Greenway Trail Trial course will not include the dreaded "second loop" just before participants head to the finish. Instead, the route now crosses SW Hall Boulevard with traffic control by the Beaverton Police Department and runs all the way to SW Denney Rd. There is only one road to cross on the southern part of the course as well, as the turnaround there is at SW Tigard Street and does not enter the Dirkson Nature Park at all.
We still need a number of volunteers for this race on Labor Day. It is easy to volunteer and run or walk this event - if you sign up to volunteer and plan to compete, the race directors will secure a start time that works with your volunteer shift.
Early bib pickup and check-in will be held at the start line in Greenway Park on Saturday, September 1st from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm by the basketball courts. Ice cream and popsicles will be provided to help you stay cool. You must register online before 6 pm on Friday, August 31 to be able to pick up your bib on Saturday, September 1.
Day of race registration and bib pickup opens at 6:30 a.m. Kiosks will be available on site for debit and credit card transactions. Checks will also be accepted.

If you have any questions about this race, click the button below.Questions?
Q: Where can we park?
A: Parking is available at Greenway Elementary School. It is possible to park on some surrounding streets but this is strongly discouraged to lessen our impact on the neighborhood.
Q: Where is the Start/Finish located?
A: The Start/Finish is located next to the tennis courts & playground at the corner of SW Greenway Blvd and SW Parkview Loop. We will be staged at the covered structure there.
Q: Are there restrooms available?
A: Porta potties will be at the Start/Finish. We will not provide restrooms along the course.
Q: Will there be an awards ceremony?
Q: Is there a bag check?
Q: What's an out-and-back course?
A: The 10k will follow the course through the Fanno Creek Regional Trail to a turn-around point and retrace your exact path to return to the finish line.
Q: Does this event count towards the 10k Series points?
Q: How long is the course open?
A: The Start line will close at 9:00 a.m. and the Finish line will close at 10:30 a.m. due to permit provisions. Since you can arrive anytime during 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. please plan accordingly.
Q: Won't the park get crowded?
A: Yes and No. It will always be a possibility that the park could see heavy use especially if the weather is nice. To help ease the traffic on the trail system we use a Time Trial format that allows participants to show up whenever they want during a 2 hour window.
Q: Can I run/walk with my friends?
A: Yes. We will release participants in groups of no more than 5 at a time at regular intervals. This is to help spread participants out.
Q: Is this race chip-timed?
A: Yes. A chip time will be used to record official results across the finish line.
Q: Are the streets/trails closed for this event?
A: No. It's Labor Day so street traffic will be lighter but the park is open to all users. Please exercise caution on the course.
Q: Can I run with a GPS watch?
A: Yes. Understand that any dense tree cover will heavily impact the accuracy of GPS devices.
Q: What sort of terrain will we run on?
A: The course is entirely within the Fanno Creek Regional Trail system and it is paved. There are two street crossings if you are running/walking the 10K.
Q: How many water stations are on the course?
A: There are two water stations along the out-and-back course. You will access the water stations three times.
Q: Can I run with a stroller?
A: We highly discourage strollers at all ORRC events. With that said, this course does take place entirely in a park with the exception of the two street crossings for the 10K. Again, the park is not closed to other users so there will be bicycles, children, dogs, runners/walkers and disc golfers.
Q: Can I run with headphones?
A: The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, Greenway Trail Trial encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of Greenway Trail Trial.
Q: Can I volunteer to help?
A: Yes! Please email Volunteer@OregonRoadRunnersClub.org
Oregon Road Runners Club is a volunteer driven organization from the Board of Directors to race day volunteers.
