We need quite a few volunteers on this course, so if you can volunteer, please sign up!
Day of race registration and bib pickup opens at 6:30 a.m. Kiosks will be available on site for debit and credit card transactions. Checks made out to ORRC will also be accepted.
We want to thanks these sponsors who have donated prizes for the 2019 Greenway Trail Trial! All of them are located right off the Greenway Trail.

Q: Will there be an awards ceremony?
A: No. Awards are mailed.
Q: Is there a bag check?
Q: What's an out-and-back course?
A: The 10k will follow the course through the Fanno Creek Regional Trail/Dirksen Nature Park to a turn-around point and retrace your exact path to return to the finish line.
Q: Does this event count towards the 10k Series points?
Q: How long is the course open?
A: The Start line will open at 7:30 a.m. for both races. The 10k start line closes at 9 a.m. and the 5k start line closes at 10 a.m. The course closes for both races at 11 a.m., so please plan accordingly.
Q: Will the trail be crowded?
A: It might be ... It will always be a possibility that the park could see heavy use especially if the weather is nice. To help ease the traffic on the trail system we use a Time Trial format that allows participants to show up whenever they want during a the specifically described windows for each race.
Q: Can I run/walk with my friends?
A: Yes. We will release participants in small groups of up to 15 people at 10-minute intervals. This is to help spread participants out. If you are running/walking with someone please be considerate and do not block the entire trail.
Q: Is this race chip-timed?
A: Yes. A chip time will be used to record official results across the finish line.
Q: Are the streets/trails closed for this event?
A: No. It's Labor Day so street traffic will be lighter but the park is open to all users. Please exercise caution on the course.
Q: Can I run with a GPS watch?
A: Yes. Understand that any dense tree cover will heavily impact the accuracy of GPS devices.
Q: What sort of terrain will we run on?
A: The course is mostly within the Fanno Creek Regional Trail system and it is mainly paved. About a mile and a half is dirt/wood chip/grass. There are two street crossings if you are running/walking the 10K.
Q: How many water stations are on the course?
A: There are two water stations along the 10k out-and-back course. You will access the water stations twice. There is no aid station for the 5k.
Q: Can I run with a stroller?
A: The 10k course is not accessible to strollers, but the 5k course is. With that said, this course does take place entirely in a park on a paved path, so if you have a stroller you will be expected to slow your pace to allow other participants to pass you. Again, the park is not closed to other users so there will be bicycles, children, dogs, runners/walkers and disc golfers.
Q: Can I run with headphones?
A: The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, Greenway Trail Trial encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of our race.
Q: Can I volunteer to help?
A: Yes! Please sign up through the Run Sign Up Volunteer Registration.
