Due to COVID we are unable to hold the 2020 Boring in-person race. The race is converting to a virtual race (with maybe virtual Goats?!?). If you haven't yet registered, please register for the Virtual Boring Race! In the virtual race you will still receive a medal and shirt (as long as you register by the shirt deadline) and will submit your results to be in the Official Boring Virtual Race Results. If you registered prior to 6/20/2020, you need to choose one of the following four options. If no option is selected you will automatically be moved to the virtual race.
Each participant will need to choose one of the following four options no later than July 31st.
After July 31st all participants who have not replied will be moved to the virtual race.
Option 1: Participate in the virtual race. You will receive a refund of any difference between what you paid and the cost of the virtual race ($45) minus any transaction fees.
Option 2: Full deferral to the 2021 race expected on September 12th 2021 and do not participate in the virtual race.
Option 3: Donate my registration fee to youth cross country and track and field programs and do not participate in the virtual race
Option 4: Receive a full refund. Before considering this, please realize this race is for charity and 100% of the proceeds go to local youth cross country and track and field programs

Below is information on how the 2020 in-person race would have been held:
The Boring Marathon, Half-Boring Half-Marathon, and Constantly Boring 8K will take place on September 13, 2020. All races start and finish at Boring Station Trailhead Park in downtown Boring, Oregon. Parking will be at Boring Middle School and the surrounding neighborhood. Please use SE Wally Rd and SE School Ave to reach parking after 6:15 am, as runners will be crossing SE Dee St. The three races are all on the Springwater Trail, out and back, with the marathon having a few side detours to take in some local neighborhoods. The marathon mainly follows the Springwater Trail into Gresham and then continues onto a portion of the Gresham-Fairview Trail to Division Street before returning to the Springwater Trail, heading further west for a few more miles, then turning and heading home to Boring following the same route. The Half Boring Half is an out-and-back on the Springwater Trail. The same goes for the Constantly Boring 8K, which never really leaves the Boring area, so truly is constantly Boring. All races support the cross country and track teams at Barlow H.S. and West Orient Middle School and all proceeds go directly to these programs.
Limit - Marathon is limited to 130, Half to 220, and the 8K to 150.
Packet pick-up - TBA, but definitely to include Saturday hours and race day morning!
Time limit - Walkers are welcome, but because we run part of the race along roads, we need to discontinue aid stations and traffic control after 6 hours. However, we will stay until the last runner/walker comes in and nobody will be disqualified by time. Early starts will be allowed - but are not required - for marathoners who expect to take longer than 6 hours.
Boring Sister City of Dull, Scotland - any resident of Dull, Scotland gets free registration (but you pay the travel)
Awards - All entries prior to August 15 are guaranteed to receive a shirt in their first size choice. After that time, shirts in your first size choice may not be available. To help guide a second choice, men's shirts tend to run a little large, and women's tend to run a little small. Medals will be awarded to finishers in all three races. Awards to top 3 places (male and female) in each age group for all races.
Refunds and deferrals - Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or deferrals once you have registered.
Changing races - If you signed up for a race and wish to change to a different race, please contact the race director before September 1 at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Boring Marathon is a USATF certified course and a Boston Qualifier.
