COME ONE, COME ALL..............The Peace Valley Duathlon is a VERY beginner friendly event!!

We encourage ALL new runners & bikers to come join us....NO hype, NO pressure....just have FUN! You can run in converse high tops and ride on a mt. bike if you'd like...everyone is welcome!  

The Fifth Annual Peace Valley Duathlon will be on May 12, 2018 at the beautiful Peace Valley Park...AKA: Lake Galena :-)

 ***PLEASE NOTE: JUST LIKE LAST YEAR....PVD '18 WILL SELL OUT WAY BEFORE RACE DAY....(Most likely by Early April!)***
                This is because we must limit the number of aesthetes for the safety of everyone! Please strategist EARLY!!

Again, PVD is VERY, VERY BEGINNER FRIENDLY!!!  We LOVE athletes new to the sport!!! Come one, come all!!!

Here are some reasons why you should NOT WAIT to register for PVD '18

1. The VERY beautiful & scenic courses!
2. Course selection: TWO distances to choose from!
      ~Short course: 2mi run~5.5mi bike~2mi run
      ~Long course: 5k run~11mi bike~5k run
3. Limited number of athletes!
      ~We will limit the number of athletes to 200 to ensure the safety of all duathletes. We anticipate the race to sell out by EARLY APRIL, so it is                            advisable to register early.
4. HUGE THREE INCH finishers medal for EVERYONE!!!!
5. TECH TEE's: The same awesome high quality tech tee's as last year BUT for the 5th anniversary, you will be able to pick the color of your t! 
                           (until we run out) See details below.
6. AWARDS: 
       ~Just like all Scoogie Events.....we have THE MOST AWESOME awards...(but of course you have to earn it:-)
       ~Top 3 Overall Male/Female & age groups 3 deep male & female – 15 and under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-              64, 65-69 and 70 and over. 
No mailing of awards or shirts. If you have to leave the race early for ANY reason, you must notify us to save your award.  If you do not, we cannot hold/store awards and will likely be given to a race day entry or someone else. It is simply too much to hold/store & inventory the awards. 
Note: If you are registered for this race and you registered in time to choose a t shirt/1/4 zip size BUT you are unable to run for whatever reason, you will NEED TO CONTACT us BEFORE RACE DAY and let us know if you'd like us to hold on to your reserved giveaway (t shirt or 1/4 zip) for you to pick up at a future Scoogie Event. If you do not do this, we cannot hold you shirt and it will be given to someone that registered after the deadline. We cannot mail shirts. 
6. Results:
       ~Instant results available at finish. Results posted within 24-48 hours. 
~THE BEST FOR LAST:
       And THE BEST part of this event....we try very hard to garner a safe and fun atmosphere that allows duathletes of ALL abilities to enjoy themselves!
       We work VERY HARD at this.....We encourage ALL ABILITIES to come out.....WE LOVE FIRST TIMERS!!!!
       We'd be honored for PVD '18 to be your fist duathlon!   

 

Registration Pricing:

Individual: $65 thru February 28th (EARLY BIRD PRICING). $75 March 1-31. $85 After that. NO race day registration. (If not USAT member add $15 for one day insurance)

Teams:  $135 thru February 28th (EARLY BIRD PRICING). $145 March 1-31. $155 After that. NO race day registration. (If not USAT member add $15 - for each participant - for one day insurance)

This event WILL sell out at 200 duathletes BY EARLY APRIL.

Once 200 runners is reached, we CANNOT accept any more runners.....no exceptions.

VERY IMPORTANT TECH TEE NOTE (and REALLY COOL FEATURE as well!!)

Special edition tech t's will be given to EVERY duathlete that registers BEFORE THEY RUN OUT OF STOCK!
For the fifth anniversary of this race...we're allowing some flexibility when ordering your tech tee!
They will be Zorrel tech tee's (the same awesome shirts that everyone LOVED over last year!!
They will be the same exact fabric material & same exact fit (unisex)
But...this time you are able to pick your color (for the most part)
When registering for the race....when you get to the give away section, you will be prompted to select a size and color :-) But, be forewarned that there are limited sizes & color.
Once we run out, that color will no longer be available.
This goes for sizes as well...once we hit the limit for that particular size & color, you will not be able to order that t shirt...so again...register EARLY~!~!

A racer email will be sent out on Monday May 7th detailing everything that you need to know about packet pick up and race day details.

DIRECTIONS:

To Peace Valley Park from Doylestown/Route 313:

Travel on Route 313 (away from Doylestown, towards Quakertown), past Ferry Road. Turn LEFT onto New Galena Road (just after NOVA Thrift Shop). In 1.7 miles TURN LEFT to stay on New Galena Road. This is the entrance to Peace Valley Park. Continue on this section of New Galena Road for ~1 mile until you see Sailor's Point Parking Area. There will be a parking attendant there to direct you. To Peace Valley Park from Quakertown/Route 313:

Travel on Route 313 (away from Quakertown, towards Doylestown) turn RIGHT onto New Galena Road (just before the Nova Thrift Shop. In 1.7 miles TURN LEFT to stay on New Galena Road. This is the entrance to Peace Valley Park. Continue on this section of New Galena Road for ~1 mile until you see Sailor's Point Parking Area. There will be a parking attendant there to direct you. To Peace Valley Park from Callowhill Road:

Entering Peace Valley Park from Callowhill Road, turn onto New Galena Road. Travel 0.9 miles, and Sailor's Point Parking Area will be on your right. There will be a parking attendant there to direct you.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON DIRECTIONS TO THE RACE START:

The race starts on the NORTH SIDE OF LAKE GALENA (NOT THE MAIN (South side) PARKING AREA). You are going to NEW GALENA ROAD at the SAILOR’S POINT PARKING AREA. We strongly advise that you google exactly where you need to go and be prepared before Saturday morning arrives.

Parking is first come first serve. Should you arrive a bit later, you may be directed to park at a parking lot which is ½ mile from the race start. Please plan accordingly.


Please do not park on any grass.  

SCHEDULE ON RACE DAY

6:00AM   Athletes arrive

6:15-7:30 Packet pick-up/Athletes set up   in transition area(Note:   If you picked   up your packet on   Friday @ North Wales RC   you do not need to check   in on Saturday).
*****Packet pick up on race day (Saturday, May 12th) will begin at 6:15 am and goes until 7:30 at the transition/start/finish area which is at Sailor's Point Boat launch at Peace Valley Park, New Galena Rd, Chalfont, PA 18914*****

7:40AM   Transition area closes   to all athletes

7:45AM   Pre-race meeting

8:00AM   Race start (in waves)

VERY IMPORTANT USAT INFORMATION 

IF YOU ARE NOT A USAT MEMBER THEN YOU MUST PAY THE ONE-DAY MEMBERSHIP FEE OF $15 IF YOU DID NOT PAY IT WHEN YOU REGISTERED. IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DO THIS, YOU CANNOT RACE. Please be prepared.

The following USAT rules must be obeyed:

*ALL athletes are required to show photo ID. NO ID, NO RACE, NO EXCEPTIONS!

 *Youth (17 and under) athletes without an ID must be accompanied by a parent/guardian with a photo ID

 *Annual members are required to bring their membership card every time they compete in a USAT sanctioned event.

 *If your card is lost, you can download and print out a temporary one at http://www.usatriathlon.org/member-services

*Athletes may only pick up their own packets.

 *Under no circumstances may an athlete pick up a packet for another person.

 *Regarding relays, all relay members must be present to receive the packet, or split up the relay packet for each participant.

 *Athletes that need to purchase a one-day license must sign the USAT waiver.

 *Annual members do not have to sign a waiver at packet pickup because they already signed it when they applied to become an annual member

 *No Drafting and head phones are prohibited
