Nikoli's Pizza Shamrock Showdown 5K in Mechanicsburg, PA The Nikoli’s Pizza Shamrock Showdown is a chip-timed 5K run/walk through the Rossmoyne Business Center in Mechanicsburg, PA. Following the 5K there will be a non-timed fun run which is great for children or others that want to come out and have fun and support us without the distance commitment. The fun run is one mile. It is a fun event with competitive and non-competitive participants. There are many amenities to draw you to this event such as live St. Patrick’s Day entertainment. After you cross the finish line, enjoy pizza and subs! Prizes to be awarded in age/gender categories, as well as overall. Many really enjoy dressing in green for the Irish holiday. Many years we have seen dogs dressed in their finest green! New for this year: ONE (1) random participant in the 5K event will be the lucky winner of *roundtrip airfare to Ireland for two (2) persons OR a three (3) night stay in Boston with transportation and lodging included. *airfare will be awarded in TWO (2) $650 gift certificates from Scott Travel. Since the price of airfare fluctuates we are using the rate found at the time the promotion was set up which is $650 per person.  If the rate is higher at the time of booking you will have a $650 credit per person toward the full price.  Lodging and meals are not included in the Ireland trip. Winner has option to choose the Boston or Ireland trip.  Booking must be made no later than 2/1/16. The race is in Honor of local children in our area that are in need. The 5K benefits the newly formed Nikoli’s Pizza Foundation for Children, a 501C3 organization, that commits to helping children locally. Over $20,000 has been raised that have been dispersed to organizations such as Cattie’s Wish, Katie Herb Foundation, Capital Area girls on the Run, Trinity High School scholarship fund. Diakon Youth Services will be added to the 2015 recipients list. Please note, mile fun run is cancelled due to low participation.
