The METAvivor In Person/Virtual New Year’s Day 5k will benefit the METAvivor Charity which supports metastatic breast cancer research, support, and awareness. 100% of proceeds after race expenses will be donated to METAvivor. METAvivor focuses on research efforts to render Stage IV breast cancer as a survivable condition. Research for Stage IV, the stage in which breast cancer kills, is hugely underfunded. Please come support this excellent cause.
The In Person Run will start at 10am with rolling start times for each runner until all runners have cleared the starting area to ensure social distancing is enforced. Runners will be chip timed from the moment they start to the moment they finish the race!
Masks are required to be worn up until runners start and after they finish the race. Runners are not required to wear a mask during the race. All other social distancing protocols will be required pre and post race. If you are not feeling well up to or on the day of the race, we ask that you stay home. After runners cross the finish line, there will be bottled water available. Runners will then be expected to leave the race area. No congregating on premises is allowed.
Additionally due to COVID restrictions, only participants are allowed. Family, friends, or any additional spectators are not permitted in the race area. We also ask runners to not utilize the pavilion as the capacity for this area is limited.
UPDATE 12/11/2020: Due to Governor Wolf's new restrictions, outdoor events must be capped at 50 including staff and volunteers. We still plan on holding the In Person race. The In Person registration will close when we reach 47 runners.
