Victim Services Center of Montgomery County, inc. (VSC) is hosting their 7th annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) 5K Run or Walk. All proceeds collected from this run event will help provide services free of charge at VSC for victims of sexual violence in Montgomery County.
Saturday, April 14, 2018 Check-in at 8:00am, walk begins at 9:00am, race begins at 9:30am at Norristown Farm Park, enter at West Germantown Pike and Upper Farm Road, check-in will be at the park pavilion
VSC is a nonprofit organization that provides free, comprehensive services to victims of sexual violence and other violent crimes. The agency provides advocacy, counseling, education services and volunteer opportunities for the community. The agency also provides a hotline that is accessible 24-hours a day, 7 day a week including all holidays. Advocacy services include accompaniments to court and police departments, assistance with Victim Compensation Assistance Program claims, case management, impact statements and more. Counseling services include individual and group counseling. Services can also be provided to the victim’s significant-other, such as a family member. Education Services include bystander intervention programs, primary prevention, intervention strategies, community awareness events and more.
