Welcome to the 20th running of The Out & Back Party Run, a popular 5K road run and famed after-party that connects runners from Philadelphia and surrounding areas for an evening of running and socializing. The new Fairmount Park House Course promises a picturesque run you don't see every day in Philly. The post-race party will be held again this year right at the finish line, on the grounds of the beautifully restored Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse. Same great party with free food, live music from great local band, Hidden Agenda, and frosty beverages. NEW THIS YEAR: More family friendly! The Smith Memorial Playground will remain OPEN for the kids' enjoyment until roughly 8:30 pm. Bring the entire family for a fun filled night in Fairmount Park.
Proceeds from the event benefit the ALS Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the care of ALS patients and their families right here in Philadelphia. Our goal is to plan and execute an enjoyable event, while raising awareness for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Through the support of our event participants and sponsors, the Out & Back Party Run raised over $50,000 last year. Please consider fundraising or making a donation to the ALS Hope Foundation. No amount is too small in the fight against this debilitating and fatal disease.

What started as an excuse to combine our love of running with the need to unwind at week’s end has evolved into one of Philadelphia’s best Spring running, party and fundraising events. For 19 years the Out & Back Party Run has been the place to run and party on a crisp Friday night in April.
Enjoy the experience of running in East Fairmount Park. This is a rolling, picturesque course, passing the historic Fairmount Park houses of Mount Pleasant, Laurel Hill and the Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse. On your way back from the turn around you are greeted with an unique view of the Philadelphia skyline. Relax afterwards with a FREE post-race party right at the finish line on the grounds of the Smith Memorial Playground. The party is rivaled only by its reputation for a good time with great, live music, frosty beverages, great people and for a great cause! We hope to see you there.
