YPI Virtual 5k

JOIN US: Every step forward for LGBTQ youth makes all of the difference! 

On Monday, May 23rd at 6 PM, meet YPI Board Members and Staff at the Youth Pride, Inc. Center (743 Westminster St)  for a leisurely walk through Providence, making pit stops at shops and restaurants along the route that sponsors YPI! This will kick off our 2 week long Virtual 5k fundraiser! 

Here’s how you can participate in our Virtual 5k fundraiser: 

Runners, bicyclists, walkers, and strollers alike can participate in this virtual event anytime between Monday, May 23, and Wednesday, June 8.

With many people still working from home and finding more time to get in a daily run or walk, the virtual 5K will make your miles count and help LGBTQ+ youth across the Ocean State and beyond! Log your steps on your own time and share via this page! 

The $25 registration fee will help YPI's mission to meet the unique needs of youth and young adults impacted by sexual orientation and gender identity/expression discrimination- Youth pride is the premier organization in Rhode Island working to end the homophobia and transphobia in environments in which LGBTQ+ youth and young adults live, work and play.  

Your registration fee will directly support our Basic Needs Pantry, Case Management, and Mental Health Services, crucial lifelines we provide to any youth under 23 that walks through our doors, completely free of charge.

If you don’t want to run, cycle or walk, that’s okay.  You can still register as a fundraiser, receive a YPI t-shirt, or donate through our race page!

Race times will be posted online as runners upload their results between 5/23 and 6/8.  While there are no prizes awarded for the fastest times, there could be one or two surprise chances to win a token of our appreciation for registered participants!
