Virtual Racing FAQs related to the Race Against Hunger:

When you sign up to run the virtual Race Against Hunger, you may run at any time from when the race starts, April 22nd, 2022 at 8:30 a.m to when it concludes May 1st, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. That's the beauty of a virtual race! You can run, walk or bike any time, anywhere within the 10-day period. The virtual race results, and the ability to log your results, will be open on April 22nd. See below for more common virtual FAQs.

How Can I Participate in the Race Against Hunger?

Register at RunSignUp.com/RaceAgainstHunger2022. During the registration process, choose whether you would like to complete the 5K run or walk or if you would like to complete the bike ride. Biking is new to our race this year, and you can choose whatever distance works best for you and hopefully your riding buddies. All participants are strongly encouraged to fundraise to help us make the biggest impact, no matter your participation type. We will have suggested race courses for you to complete, but you are able to do the race whenever and whenever is most convenient for you between April 22, 2022 – May 1, 2022.

When Should I Complete the Race?

You can complete this ANYTIME you desire after the start date! Many participants will be running, walking or biking on the originally scheduled date/weekend, April 30th, 2022, but that’s the benefit of a virtual event. Only the RACE is virtual – the RUN is REAL, WHENEVER you choose to do it. Want to do it in the morning? That's fine! Not much of a morning person? You can run in the afternoon/evening time! 

Where Should I Complete the Race?

That is 100% your choice. You can run, walk or bike anywhere outside, whether it's the park or local neighborhood, OR take your miles to the treadmill or peloton! If you choose to participate outdoors, please ensure you're following all local guidelines for safety. The Kelly Drive Course can be found HERE, and it's enabled with the Race Joy app as well for runners. Once you start Race Joy, it will guide you through the real course with some fun motivation cheers along the way! Your friends and family can also track you on Race Joy as you run! In addition, you can use "Race Joy Anywhere" for the Race Against Hunger, which will allow you to use the app for your virtual race. When you use Race Joy (for anywhere or for the real course), your time/results will automatically post. 

Do I have to Download the Race Joy App for the Race?

Yes, you must use the Race Joy app in order to track and record your time for the race. Instructions on how to set up the Race Joy app on your mobile device can be found HERE.

How Do I Report my Time?

The virtual results submission link is active from April 22nd, 2022, to May 1st, 2022. Follow the prompts when you click "Submit Virtual Results" in the RaceJoy app. You don't have to submit a time; there is an option to just mark your race as complete. If you are biking and tracking your ride through Strava or any other app, send us your results by emailing race@hungercoalition.org

Are Times Verified?

No. For the virtual event, times reported are on the ‘honor system’. 

Will Results be Posted?

Yes! As more and more people submit their time, preliminary results will be on the RESULTS page of the website. 

Will Participants be Rewarded Based on Performance?

Not for the virtual race. Since participants are running in different locations, times, etc., we will not award anything based on performance.  

How Will I Get my Race Gear?

T-shirts will be sent through the mail and race bibs will be sent by email. Participants that register before April 1st are guaranteed to receive their t-shirt before race day. If you are a member of a team, all t-shirts will be given to the team leader for distribution. If your address associated with this race is outdated, EMAIL US IMMEDIATELY at race@hungercoalition.org. We also recommend you update your profile too, but this will only affect FUTURE registrations. To see what address is associated with THIS Registration, go to runsignup.com/raceagainsthunger2022, click the circle with the person in the upper right-hand corner, click [Profile]. There you should be able to see your address. To update your address for FUTURE registrations (not just for Coalition Against Hunger events, but any race that uses Run Sign Up), click the blue square in the upper right corner of the Main Account Information Box, change the address on file, then scroll down and click [Save].

How do I Create/Join a Team? 

If you would like to create a team, please email us at race@hungercoalition.org. If you would like to join a team that is already created, email the team leader for the direct link to register, or be sure to choose the team you would like to join during the fundraiser portion of the registration process.

Will I be Responsible for my Own Registration Fee for A Team?

Yes, every team member must register and will be responsible for his or her own registration fee.
