Who We Support

The Herman & Walter Samuelson Children's Hospital at Sinai supports the very heart of the family-centered care philosophy. From pediatric medicine to expert care in specialties such as cancer, neurologic disorders, bowel disease and diabetes, the Samuelson Children's Hospital delivers individualized care focused on the family and patient. The family works alongside the clinical team to ensure the best outcomes from their sick child. The Herman & Walter Samuelson Children's Hospital at Sinai offers a full range of pediatric specialty services, for patients from birth to 18 years of age and older, supporting area pediatricians with the most comprehensive care of any community hospital in Maryland. The hospital supports the family centered care philosophy.  The most amazing detail about the interior design theme of the hospital is a marine motif. For specified hours each day, the televisions in each room have access to a live broadcast from the National Aquarium in Baltimore. The live feed is also visible from the third floor lobby area as you exit the elevators.

The Center for Hope brings together comprehensive programs, experts and city agency partners to foster positivity, safety and success for children, youth and adults. The first of its kind in the nation, the Center for Hope will be the new model for employing integrated programs and services designed to break the cycle of violence and its lifelong impact for victims of all races, ethnicities and religions, from the cradle to our senior population.

Home to some of the world's most renowned orthopedic surgeons, the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics (RIAO) offers state-of-the-art treatment in a variety of orthopedic services for both children and adults. Our medical team of more than 250 professionals performs approximately 4,300 orthopedic procedures and conducts more than 36,000 office visits annually. With access to operating rooms and highly specialized teams that exclusively practice orthopedics, the RIAO offers the advantages of a “hospital within a hospital.” Patients receive the full continuum of care including initial consultations, surgical and non-surgical services, hospital stay, as well as, inpatient and outpatient physical therapy. RIAO physicians have earned a global reputation for their limb lengthening expertise as well as their innovative techniques for joint preservation and replacement.  The Save-A-Limb Fund was established in 2001 and supports the fight to save limbs from amputation and provides hip and knee replacements to patients in need both domestically and abroad. The Fund also works to advance patient care through the research and the work of the physicians and staff of the RIAO.
