Mission 41 Information

RACE START:    April 21, 2018 at HIGH NOON


REGISTRATION:    February 19, 2018 online registration begins at 12:00 pm (MST). Only the first 2,341 applications will be accepted. Please register on our website, The entry fee is $60 plus a $3.60 online fee.


WAIT LIST:    Once the first 2.341 slots fill, the wait list will open immediately and will close on March 15, 2018. Once on the wait list you will be notified if a race number becomes available. You will have 2 days from the date of the notification to sign up for the race. Available race numbers will be assigned in the order of the wait list. You will be able to check on your position on the wait list by logging on to your account. There is no cost to join the wait list. You may only sign up for the wait list one time.


PACKET PICKUP:    Packets can be picked up on April 18, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Packet Pickup takes place at the Basque Center corner of 6th and Grove Street, Boise, Idaho.  Please bring your email confirmation and Photo ID. Out of town participants and those who missed packet pickup can get their race packets on the day of the race at the start between 9:30-11:45 am.


TRANSFERS:    If you are unable to participate in the race, you may transfer your race number to someone on the wait list or to another person of your choice.  If you purchase a number from someone else, the race number MUST be transferred into your name to ensure the accuracy of the results. You can do so online for $10 at or in person at packet pickup for $10. Online transfer deadline is March 15, 2018. There are NO RACE DAY CHANGES OR TRANSFERS.


TIMING:    The race will be electronically timed, but official results (i.e. awards) will be based on gun time. Your timing device is attached to your race number. Please wear your race number on the front of your shirt to ensure accurate timing. Do not crumple, fold, or damage your chip.


CUT OFF:    We will stop timing the race at 5:00 pm. Anyone under the age of 14 or who is not capable of finishing in less than 5 hours is strongly discouraged from running this race. This is not your typical half marathon. Race Officials may pull you from the course at any time for medical, safety, or any other reason


COURSE:    The 13.1 mile course begins at Fort Boise Park near the softball fields and runs a loop around Scout Lane, Fort Street, and on to Reserve Street where it turns into Shaw Mountain Road and begins to climb. The road turns to dirt at around 3.5 miles and continues to climb going up Rocky Canyon Road until you reach Aldape Summit. Then the Course turns steeply downhill for the first 2 miles of the decent into Robie Creek drainage and continues to wind downhill to the finish at Robie Creek Park.


AID STATIONS:     There are 10 aid stations supplying water at Miles 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 11.5. The “Table of Tang” is located at approx. mile 8 to “motivate” you to the top of the summit. There will be Port-a-Potties at the start, on course, and at the finish.


MEDICAL:    There will be medical support on the course graciously provided by Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue, East Boise County Ambulance District, and Ada County Paramedics. If you need assistance, please go to the nearest aid station.


FINISHERS:    All race finishers will receive a T-Shirt and keepsake from the race upon reaching the Finish Line.


AWARDS:    Awards will be given for the overall top 3 women and men finishers. Age group awards are presented to the top 3 women and men finishers in each age group beginning with ages 14-18 and progressing in 5 year increments thereafter until the ages 80-99. We also give first-place Masters Awards to the top woman and man over the age of 40. All awards are given based on gun time.


AGE LIMIT:    Anyone under the age of 14 is discouraged from entering this race. There are no awards for anyone 14 and under.


POST RACE:    At the finish, there will be live music, food, fun, and beer for those over 21!   

  • All individuals who want to drink beer after the race must prove their age in order to obtain a wrist band at the Finish area. Race Participants who are over 21 years old may use their own race number with their own correct age as proof of age. Spectators must show photo ID. Only 2 alcoholic beverages at a time will be served to each person. Please drink responsibly and have a designated driver.


  • You can send extra clothing to the Finish in the “Toad Transporter” which will be parked at the Start area. Please put your extra clothing in a bag marked with your name and contact info and drop it off at the start in the Toad Transporter. There are no changing tents at the Finish. The Race to Robie Creek® and Rocky Canyon Sail Toads, Ink. are not responsible for any items placed in the Toad Transporter or left anywhere on course or at any aid station.


SPECTATORS:    Anyone wishing to go to the Finish must purchase a valid Spectator Pass in order to board a Shuttle Bus and partake at the party. Race participants, volunteers and children under the age of 3 do NOT need a Spectator Pass. A limited number of Spectator Passes can be purchased online for $12 at the time of registration and are limited to 1 per Participant. If available, additional Spectator Passes can be purchased for $15 at Packet Pickup.


PARKING:    There is NO PARKING AT THE FINISH. We provide shuttle buses for Participants with their Race Number and Spectators who have a valid Spectator Pass to get in to and out of the Finish area. You can park your cars at either Spring Shores Marina or the Parks and Recreation Lot on Warm Springs Avenue (by Shakespeare) and take a shuttle bus from either location to the Finish. Please carpool!


SHUTTLE BUSES:    Shuttle buses ONLY run between the Finish and the parking areas at Spring Shores and Warm Springs. There is NO shuttle from the parking areas to the start.


Spectators and Volunteers GOING TO the Finish:

  • Shuttle Buses depart Warm Springs Parking TO Spring Shores every 30 minutes beginning at 11:30 am. The last bus from this location leaves at 1:30 pm.

  • Shuttle Buses depart Spring Shores Parking TO the Finish starting at NOON. The last bus to the finish leaves Spring Shores at 2:00 pm.

  • There is NO bus transportation for spectators or volunteers to the Finish after 2:00 pm!


After the Race, LEAVING FROM the Finish:

  • Shuttle Buses will take Participants/Spectators/Volunteers FROM the Finish TO Spring Shores as they fill up. If you are parked at Warm Springs, you will board a separate shuttle bus at Spring Shores that will take you to the Warm Springs Parking Area.

  • ONLY the very LAST SHUTTLE BUS will take Participants/Spectators back to Fort Boise Park (i.e. the Start).
