If you wish to pick up someone else's packet you must present their pre-race email that contains their QR code. We appreciate your cooperation with this.

BIB MAILING OPTION

If you are participating in the in-person race and can not make it to the race expo, or if you simply prefer having the convenience, you may choose to have your race bib and shirt mailed to you. The bib mailing option will close on April 28th at 11:59 pm. Virtual participants will have their race packet mailed to them automatically at no additional charge.

Please note: If you select the bib mailing option you cannot defer your entry to the following year after the bib mailing cutoff date of April 28th.

BEER BRACELET

Each registrant in the half marathon, 10K, and 5K who is 21+ receives one complimentary beer at the post-race party. We also offer a beer bracelet as an add-on during registration which entitles the wearer to “unlimited” alcoholic drinks at the post-race party. The bracelet costs $15 when purchased online or at any packet-pickup, or $20 on race day. Bracelets are non-transferable, and SMRF reserves the right to deny service to anyone who appears intoxicated or cannot produce photo ID when requested.

POST-RACE PARTY

When the race is over, the party begins! The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, with beautiful waterfront views, is the host for our post-race party. Just a short walk from the finish line, participants can relax in a tented greenspace with:

• One complimentary beer for runners 21+
• Food
• Live Music
• Fun photo ops and official race shop from Brooks

NOVACARE REHABILITATION RECOVERY AREA

Join NovaCare Rehabilitation for a recovery session after you finish your run  Whether you set out to reach a new PR or enjoyed the picturesque views during the race, everyone could use some dedicated recovery time afterwards.

A team of physical therapists from NovaCare Rehabilitation will be demonstrating foam rolling techniques, offering taping to offload painful muscles, and trigger point work to get you feeling great again! Also be sure to check out the NormaTec Recovery Boots to improve circulation and decrease muscle soreness. Therapists will also provide on site complimentary injury screening to help you stay healthy and active.

AWARDS

Awards will be given for the in-person Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K as follows:

• Top three overall male, female and non-binary finishers (based on gun time)
• Top male and female masters finishers (based on gun time)
• Top three male and female finishers in the following age groups (based on chip time): 14 and under; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 and over.

There is NO double dipping! Awards will be presented at the post-race party, so be sure to check your results on RunSignup and stick around if you’ve earned an award! There are no awards given for the virtual races.

TRAINING

Are you ready to race a 5K, 10K, or 1/2 Marathon in St. Michaels? 

Join our newest 5K, 10K or half marathon training program and we will get you ready for this May race in St. Michaels, Maryland. No matter your pace or experience level, if your next goal is to race a half marathon, or to hold yourself accountable to a distance running routine this fall, there is a place in our groups for you! Our programs are open to everyone from the runner attempting their first endurance event to the repeat competitive runner. Training can be individualized to your experience and goals. The program will prepare to race your best - whether you're new to long distance running or a seasoned half marathoner. Please note that you don’t have to run a race to join this training group.

Our groups meet twice a week - once a week for speed workouts and once a week for long runs. Your expert coach will also provide you with a weekly training plan that will guide your preparation for your target half marathon. Along the way you'll learn about about increasing your mileage, tempo runs, track workouts, hill workouts, recovery runs, nutrition, hydration, injury prevention, and much more.

SMRF is happy to offer free race photography to capture your awesome running photos at the start, on the course and at the finish. When you see a photographer on the course, don’t forget to put on a big smile, break out your best (or goofiest) pose or simply give a big cheer.
