I recognize and understand the risks involved in participating in a road race which is a potentially hazardous activity. I assume all risks and hazards incidental to the conduct of the activity. Further, that the weather and footing may be adverse and greatly increase the danger. 

I should not enter and run unless I am medically able to do so and properly trained. I understand that I am totally responsible for my own safety. I assume all risks associated with running in this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, traffic, and course conditions, and waive any and all claims which I might have based on any of those and other risks typically found in running a road race. I acknowledge all such risks are known and understood by me. 

I agree to abide by all decisions of any race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I certify as a material condition to my being permitted to enter this race that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained for the completion of this event and that a licensed Medical Doctor has verified my physical condition. I certify that I am medically fit to participate. 

Therefore, in consideration of my being permitted to participate as an entrant or competitor in the event, in case of injury to myself, I for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, successors and assigns to hereby remise release and forever discharge, absolve, waive and save harmless protect and indemnity the organizers of the race identified above, the Event Director, or any of the supervisors appointed by them, RunSignup.com, Wire2Wire Running, LLC, City of Cartersville, Downtown Development Authority, Backpack Buddies Program, its employees, sanctioning bodies, sponsoring corporations, sponsors, participants, competitors, volunteers, entrants and all respective agents, officials, servants, representatives, from and against any and all kinds of action claims, costs and expenses and demands in respect of death, injury, loss or damage to my person or property however caused out of me participating to attend or in any way take part in, prior to, during or subsequent to these events whether as an entrant, competitor, spectator or otherwise notwithstanding that some may have been contributed to or occasioned by the negligence of any of the aforesaid, their agents, officials, servants, officials, servants, or representatives.  

By submitting this entry, I acknowledge having read and agreed to the above waiver, release, and indemnifications. 

Further, I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my name, voice and images of myself in any photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose, as well as receive a free newsletter of upcoming races from Wire2Wire Running, LLC.  I understand that this event does not provide for refunds in the event of a cancellation, and by signing this waiver, I consent that I am not entitled to a refund if the event is cancelled before or during the event.  

This event follows the standard running industry policy: All entry fees are non-refundable. We reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event due to circumstances beyond our control such as a natural disaster or emergency or as required to protect the safety of participants and staff. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. We reserve the right to change the details of the event without prior notice. I understand that my entry fee is nonrefundable and bib numbers are non-transferable.

By submitting this entry, I (or a parent or adult guardian for all children under 18 years) acknowledge having read and agreed to the above release and waiver including the no refund policy.

I further realize that the race will only be cancelled in the event of extremely inclement weather.  This is a rain or shine event.
