By signing this form, I acknowledge that I know and understand that running, walking, volunteering, and spectating at a trail running event such as the Kennebec Mountain Run (“Event”) is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not participate in such activities unless I am medically able and properly trained.

I assume all risks of injury to myself or injuries to others caused, or allegedly caused by myself, associated with participating in the Event, including, without limitation, falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, including heat, humidity, cold, storms, precipitation and lightning, the conditions of the trails and roads, as well as motorized and non-motorized traffic on the course, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. The undersigned expressly acknowledges that the course of the Event crosses private property and acknowledges those private property rights including any attendant purposes and potential uses thereof and agrees to respect such private property rights.

I attest that I have read the rules of the race and agree to abide by them. I agree to abide by any decision of an Event official, including the Race Director and La Plata County Search & Rescue volunteers, concerning my being allowed to participate in, or complete, the Event.

I, for myself and anyone enlisted to act on my behalf, unconditionally waive, release and shall hold harmless  1) the Durango Running Club, 2) the County of La Plata, 3) the State of Colorado, 4) the United States Forest Service, 5) La Plata County Search & Rescue, 6) all Event organizers and directors, 7) all private landowners and associated entities owning land that lies in the path of the Event route including Highland Tellurides Corp, William Sheriff, Savers Trust, SOS Trust, Joe Brinkerhoff, and 8) all sponsors and their respective directors, officers and successors, from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participating in this event including but not limited to bodily injury and/or death, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver.
