The Walk will go from The U.S. Capitol to 17th Street NW and back. The course route includes several street closings. CureFest will be paying Metropolitan Police Department officers to staff these intersections for the safety of all participants. There will also be several Course Marshals along the route to ensure walkers stay on course.
Medical support: CureFest will be in full compliance with all DC special event medical requirements. There will be a fixed first aid station and two Emergency Medical Personnel on bike during the walk. If you need medical assistance you may also alert one of the law enforcement officers located at each intersection along the course, or call 911 on your mobile phone.
Hydration Station - Complimentary water will be available for all Walk participants at a water station along the walk route. Complimentary water and light snacks will also be available for all Walk participants at the finish line on the National Mall.
WEATHER AND DISASTER POLICY:
There is no "rain date." The Walk will be held rain or shine. In the case of significantly inclement weather, we reserve the right to alter components of the event or course route to address safety concerns, or potentially cancel the Walk.
In addition, it is possible that while we desire not to cancel the event, the District of Columbia or the National Park Service may force the cancellation of the event for public safety reasons.
In such situations, there will be No Refunds of entry fees. Each registrant must accept any such risk of their entry fee. Monies collected have already been used to develop and produce the Walk. We promise to make every effort to produce a fair, safe and exciting event.
Any decision made to go forth with the event is contingent on the overall event and course route safety, and is made in concert with local risk management, police, fire & rescue, and medical personnel as appropriate.
Please note that we are aware sometimes unfortunate situations arise. Our policy, however, does not grant exceptions.
We require certain emergency medical information from each registrant in order to provide the best possible care in the event of an accident or medical emergency. This information will only be shared with licensed medical personnel and only in the event of an emergency.
Any remaining questions should be addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
