3rd Annual Together for Greenville Color Run

Christ Church Episcopal School and St. Joseph's Catholic School, with support from the Graphic Cow Company, are proud to present the third annual "Together for Greenville Color Run" to benefit The Family Effect, an organization working to reduce addiction as a leading cause of family collapse and harm to children in the Upstate.

This Color Run is a key event in the combined Spirit Week between CCES and SJCS and proceeds will benefit this year's chosen charity:  The Family Effect. Pre-race will include a performance from Inside Out and Backwards (a student band) and an introduction to The Family Effect.  A DJ will be playing music during the color run and we will celebrate together at the finish line with a color party!  Prizes will be awarded for the Best Dressed Guys and Girls!  Snacks and games will also be included in the ending celebration while we learn more about the great things that our beneficiary, The Family Effect, is doing to help those in the Upstate.

What is a Color Run?

This is a race all about the time of your life rather than the time of your race!  Our Color Run is an untimed race, covering the campus of St. Joseph’s Catholic School, where runners will be doused in different colors throughout the course.  Along the way, you will have the option to participate in obstacle course events between color stations (ex. Military crawl, stutter-step tire run, blow up obstacle course/bouncer).  Our DJ will fill the air with colorful tunes while you make your way across the campus and into the stadium.  Once all runners return to the stadium, we will celebrate with a color party full of music, dancing and a huge color throw!!

So wear white at the starting line and finish covered in color!  If you sign up between now and Sunday, Nov. 12th, we will even throw in a limited edition Color Run screened t-shirt!!  On the day of the race, our fashion gurus will be out looking for the most spirited color run outfit….and will be awarding one male and one female with a prize!

Color Run Events:

Color Run – for kids and adults, 6 color stations, optional obstacle course events in between, color party at end, free t-shirt for registration between 10/18 – 11/12.

Kiddie Color Run – for smaller children, 3 color stations, optional obstacle course event in between, color party at end, start in middle of course to reduce traffic with larger crowd, free t-shirt for registration between 10/18 – 11/12.

Virtual Color Run – for those too busy to make the event, do your own thing and we will send you a t-shirt with color added.  That way you walk away feeling good that you supported the cause and looking like you were part of it all!

Parking

Please park at St. Joseph’s Catholic School (100 St. Joseph's Drive Greenville, SC US 29607). The Color Run will be completed entirely on the SJCS campus this year.

A small donation on your part can make a big difference in the life of these mothers and their young children!

Our Beneficiary: The Family Effect

The Family Effect

The Family Effect works to reduce addiction as a leading cause of family collapse and harm to children. We accomplish this mission by spreading awareness, raising funds, and recruiting volunteers to support the various treatment programs offered at The Phoenix Center.

Specifically, The Family Effect raises support for Serenity Village - a residential treatment program for pregnant women, young mothers, and their preschool-aged children. As one of only 3% of facilities in the nation to allow mothers and children to live together and receive treatment simultaneously, Serenity Village works to heal the mother's addiction, accelerate the child's development, and build long-term skills for family strength and self-sufficiency.

Currently, The Family Effect is constructing a new building on the Serenity Village campus where the children in the program will receive specialized, evidence-based treatment to address any developmental delays they may have as a result of exposure to addiction in the home. Funds are being raised to support this project and provide resources for counselors to better assess and treat these children in an effort to put them on a successful path and end the cycle of addiction.
