Girard College invites our students, families, staff, alumni, friends and neighbors to participate in a run/walk event that directly benefits our Girard Scholars academic and residential activities and programs. The Beyond the Wall 5K Run/Walk & Community Day is an opportunity to build community, engage new partners, and forge friendships while having fun and exercising.
Thank you for helping Girard continue our mission to support underserved students. Your participation in this event is greatly appreciated. Please note that registration packets will be provided on the day of the race. More details regarding the itinerary for the day will be provided closer to the event day. Register as a Race Team
Bringing a Squad to the starting line? Great! One team captain can register every person on the team or individuals can choose to join a team during registration. We have set up Team Types for Students, Families, Faculty/Staff, Alumni, Friends, and Corporate Partners. Get started with creating a race team here
Create a Fundraiser to support Girard Students even more!
Separate from registering as an individual or creating a Race Team, those participating will also become Fundraisers to raise additional donations to support the students of Girard College. Each person is encouraged to fundraise a minimum of $100 to support the academic and student life programs at Girard College.
Registering for the the race automatically makes you a Fundraiser! You can Fundraise as an Individual or create a Fundraising Team during the race registration process. All Individual Fundraisers are encouraged to raise a minimum of $100. If you have questions about this process, please contact us at advancement@girardcollege.edu

Community Day
On Sunday October 1st, 2023 Girard College will host our 3rd Annual Beyond the Wall 5K Run/Walk Fundraiser and Community Day. Friends, families and neighbors will have the opportunity to raise money in support of full scholarships for 1st-12th grade students who wish to attend the 5 day boarding school. In collaboration with this day, we also celebrate our 175th anniversary where we invite the community to celebrate this historic milestone with us. Community Partners such as the PA Convention Center, Mural Arts Program and the Philadelphia Office of Violence Prevention will come together to provide free wash/dry clothing services, herb planting classes, grief discussions, games, food and more! Early registration for this event ends 9/1! Register and Join us as we strive to become the Campus for the City, in support of students and families in the city of Philadelphia.
Community Day Registration is "No Charge" but does NOT include participation in the 5K race.
