Another fun/competitive race in beautiful River Legacy Parks in N. Arlington. The course - relatively flat & fast, mostly tree-shaded. Have fun running, walking, strolling … Parking - available in the park. Donated kids’ (5-6 year-olds) gifts are encouraged for Jack Hernandez; the net race proceeds will go to the Hernandez family to help with Jack’s medical bills. Jack Hernandez, 5-year old son of Sergio and Rita Hernandez of Granbury, TX, was injured in a lawnmower accident on Friday, 13th April 2012. Sergio is a familiar top age-group runner/racer in the DFW area races. As a result of the accident, Jack’s leg had to be amputated below the knee. Medical costs for Jack’s treatment and rehabilitation are mounting for the Hernandez family. This 5K/1M race is to rally this area’s runners/walkers/racers – our racing community -- to help one of our own. All contributions are greatly appreciated!
Net proceeds from the race will benefit the Hernandez family to help with Jack Hernandez’s medical bills – rallying for one of our own, in the racing community.

Awards
Awards to 1st Overall male and female finishers, 1st Masters male and female finishers in the 5K. Top 3 finishers in the following age/gender groups also will be awarded: 6 & Under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & Over.. All 1 Mile finishers will receive participation ribbons.

This is a fun & competitive race in beautiful River Legacy Parks in north Arlington. The course is flat & fast, and is mostly tree-shaded. DIRECTIONS FROM DALLAS, FORT WORTH, etc. Exit onto N. Cooper off I-30 in Arlington and go north. Turn Left at the intersection of Cooper & Green Oaks. Turn Right at the very next intersection/light and go into the Park. Continue on the park entrance road. Turn Left at the first road on the left. Continue on that road until you see the race activity.One also can get directions from the ‘Net, by, for example, going to www.yahoo.com, clicking on “Maps” and then on the “Get Directions” link OR www.MapQuest.com. The location address for the race would be 701 NW Green Oaks (Arlington, TX 76006).

Walk-in fees (through 6/22/12) are $10 (5K) OR $5 (1 Mile) at The RUNNER, 3535 W. Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington TX 76013 (817-461-2281). Race day fees - $15 (5K) OR $5 (1 Mile). Plus kids’ (5 – 6 year-olds) gifts on race day. NO T-SHIRTS! But a small, scholarly memento.
