Texas Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Childhood Obesity Endowment

EMPOWERING FAMILIES TO LIVE HEALTHY, HAPPY LIVES

It is hard to be healthy during our busy lives that are so often surrounded by powerful unhealthy influences. The Texas Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Childhood Obesity is committed to working with families so that they may be empowered to lead healthier, happier lives and to working to make the communities where our families live become healthier too!  We are committed to our patients’ health not only in the clinic, but also in the communities where they live.

Led by Stephen Pont, MD MPH and an interdisciplinary team of health experts from Dell Children’s Medical Center, UT-Austin, and the Texas Child Study Center, the Texas Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Childhood Obesity was created to address and reverse the childhood obesity epidemic facing Central Texas today. The center incorporates multi-disciplinary prevention and treatment programs across four CLEAR domains: Evidence based multidisciplinary CLINICAL prevention & treatment; Patient, community, and student/trainee EDUCATION; Community ADVOCACY and capacitybuilding, through serving as a resource and partner for health-related collaborative community efforts, and; Novel RESEARCH to advance knowledge, document success and expand services. The center would not exist without the generous from philanthropy, and we are indebted to your support.
