Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers Bold in the Cold 5K & 15K
January 13, 2024 will mark the 24th running of BITC and it is still a great race to start your year with!

In lieu of another shirt to clutter your closet, Bold in the Cold will be giving out a little something to help warm yourself after the race (hint: it goes with the beanies from the 2020 race and the scarves from 2022). And to those age group winners, you'll have something cool to to go with it. More details to follow.
Be sure to sign up early for best pricing and to make sure you receive your little something! They will be available for the first 400 registrants.

We are using an "old school", but effective IPICO chip timing system powered by Race Director software. The timing chips are designed to be attached to your shoe and are reliable as long as the chip is below your knee. Please remember to pick up your chip before the race on RACE DAY. A volunteer will remove the chip for you at the finish line after your final race.
LGRAW extends an open invitation to runners and walkers of all abilities to come out and join us for Hop & Sprint, a weekly social run on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM at Hop & Sting Brewery and our weekend runs and walks every Saturday and Sunday starting at 7:00 A.M. at our Clubhouse in Oak Grove Park

Both races will start on Horseshoe Trail near Dove Loop Rd (just south of the LGRAW Clubhouse - 2615 Dove Loop Rd., Grapevine).
Race Day Schedule
6:30 AM Timing chip, bib & packet pick up, and race day registration OPENS
7:45 AM Timing chip, bib & packet pick up, and race day registration CLOSE (no registrations can be accepted after this time)
8:00 AM 5K and 15K Start
9:00 AM 5K Awards Presentation (approximate)
10:00 AM 15K Awards Presentation (approximate)
Awards
Both Bold in the Cold races will present the following awards for each distance:
Overall Male/Female
Overall Master's Male/Female (40+)
Overall Grandmaster's Male/Female (50+)
Top three age group award winners 8 and under, 9-11, 12-15, 16 -19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75+.
No duplication of awards. Top overall finisher awards are based on gun time. Age group awards are based on chip time.
If you are not present to pick up your award, you may come to the RAW Clubhouse on the weekends to pick up your award. We cannot mail any awards.
Important Race Details
Bold in the Cold uses a re-usable chip timing system. Race participants will pick up their chip on RACE DAY. Timing chips are fastened to your shoe. Timing chips are returned at the finish line.
Both races start at the same time (8 a.m.) near the RAW clubhouse. Both races will start in the same direction (running west) and use the same finish line.
Aid stations on the course will have both water and sports drink. Race items cannot be mailed to "no shows."
Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Refunds will not be made in the case of inclement weather cancellations. Race insurance is optional and can be purchased at a nominal fee.

If registering on race day, we recommend arriving before 7 AM.
