Families are Forever 5K

Darcy Cassidy is an extraordinary 13 year teenager who loved her family, loved her friends, loved her community.  Darcy Cassidy won in life along side her family for 13 years while battling AT/RT, brain cancer for 9 of those years, which eventually spread through her body and took her life.  She may have lost her battle here on earth, but she did it with amazing grace and strength, and magically brought thousands of hearts to break, but also rejoice in her legacy.  Her legacy and her memories bring smiles, love, and kindness in the  most extreme ways.    Darcy still lives in everyone's heart that knew her, and even the people that didn't but heard the endless wonderful stories of her life.   She left behind Michael and Cathy, her dad and mom, her brother, Danny, and 2 sisters, Dakota and DayLyn.   We lived, laughed and loved with Darcy, we danced with Darcy, we ran with Darcy, we fought with Darcy, and know she lives with us every day.   Every year we will be hosting a Dinner and Dance for families, that she would have been so proud to be a part of.  Watching families have a special place to share a meal, and dance together is just simple and important.  We also love to get out for walks down our road, or ride bikes together.  So this Families are Forever run is just another symbol of what families can do together.  Families, friends and community spending quality time, coming together, making memories that last forever.  Families are Forever always, no matter whether they are  altogether on Earth, or separated in Heaven.  So let's come together with families and enjoy a time out for a run.
