Description

Free massage and acupuncture post-race! Complimentary pre-race dinner! Yes, age group awards! Don't think about it! Just sign up! Run, Bike, Creek Challenge and more surprises await you when you sign up for this timed race! Enjoy the best hills and natural features. The course covers an 9.5 mile run, on rural roads with broad grassy easements, an 8.66 mile road bike ride and a mile or so jaunt up the middle of the gorgeous Salado Creek. This race was designed to get you out of your cubicle and into the fresh air. There will be support and aid along the course. The race course is a near perfect loop. The race directors will place your bike 9.5 miles out in the country. When you run to the top of Campbell Hill, your bike will be a welcomed sight. So you will bike 8.66 miles along nearly empty country roads to the creek transition. We said "Adventure" in the title. If you knew everything that you were going to do, it wouldn't be much of an adventure! If you can complete a 10 mile run, then you are ready for this race! See Facebook Event link below. Deadline for equipment drop-off is 6:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. This race is the Sunday of the long Columbus Day Weekend. That gives athletes the treat of practically empty rural roads on an early Sunday morning. Most will have Monday to recover and do laundry! So enjoy your Columbus Day Weekend with a workout differènt! Entries are limited so reserve your spot now!

Course Map

This is a single loop course. 3 person relays may be split into: one person runs, one person bikes and one person hikes up th the middle of the creek. In the individual competition, one person would do all 3 portions. The race begins at Barrow Brewing Company (108 Royal Street Salado, Texas 76571) with a 9.5 mile run. The bike transition area is at the top of Campbell Hill. Next is a 8.66 mile bicycle ride through the beautiful Central Texas backroads. You will drop your bicycles and venture into the wild at Stinnett Mill, cooling down via the center of Salado Creek about 2 miles until you return to the brewery grounds next to Salado Creek. Kayaks will be provided to you for deep portions.(The creek portion may be switched to a 3 mile run along roads if the water is too high, hard to predict the rainfall at this point). There will be support and aid stations, but be ready to dig deep! https:www.mapmyride.com/workout/3793630561
