Like so many events this year, the 2020 Tulsa Federal Credit Union Tulsa Run 15K will be a virtual race due to the public safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Although organizers were hoping to host runners in person this October, they are determined to continue Oklahoma’s most historic race during this very historic year.
The 15K will continue in a virtual format while the 5K and 2K races will be postponed until 2021. Those who registered for the 15K may also choose to defer their registration to the 2021 event scheduled for Oct. 20, 2021.
INFORMATION FOR REGISTRANTS
All runners should have received an email with instructions and options. 15K registrants who wish to run the virtual race do not need to do anything at this time. If they wish to defer their registration to 2021, they will need to send an email no later than 11:59 pm this Sunday, Aug. 23 to email@example.com. After that time, all 15K registrations will be transferred to the virtual race. Those who registered for the 5K and 2K will be automatically deferred to 2021 and don’t need to do anything at this time.
STILL TIME TO SIGN UP
Those who still wish to run the virtual run may sign up at www.tulsarun.com through this Sunday, Aug. 23 by 11:59 p.m.
VIRTUAL RACE SWAG
Virtual racers may miss the crowds, but they won’t be disappointed with the swag. All virtual runners will receive a long-sleeve tee, a special edition Halloween neck buff and a 3-inch medal.
HOW THE VIRTUAL RACE WILL WORK
Because the 2020 race will not be professionally timed, times will not be considered official and awards will not be given.
SAVE THE DATE FOR 2021
Oklahoma’s most historic race plans to return to downtown Tulsa on Oct. 30, 2021.
