Running Up For Air - Kyhv Peak - Rock Canyon (Provo)

Spring into RUFA Kyhv Peak!!!  We are very pleased to announce new dates for the 2024 Kyhv RUFA. Several avalanches impacted the Rock Canyon trail this winter and spring, but we are very excited to offer RUFA Kyhv Peak with safer (and warmer) conditions!  

The Up for Air Series is a collection of endurance events created to amplify informed dialogue and empower organizations actively working on air quality solutions. Proceeds from Up for Air events are directed at carefully selected non-profit groups who demonstrate high value influence strategies. The race platform is used to expose participants and the general public to science-based material about the importance of healthy air. All events are conducted with a minimal footprint philosophy.

The 2024 events will be the same as in 2023. There will be 24, 12, 6 and 3 hour events as well as three relay events.

Note: New for 2024 we are consolidating starting times, so the six-hour and three-hour Saturday morning events will start at 6am and the 3-hour afternoon event will start at noon.

Squaw Peak was officially renamed Kyhv Peak on September 8, 2022.  Kyhv is the Ute word for mountain. The course includes the summit of Kyhv Peak (elevation 7,862).

Note: Race takes place on both Provo City and Forest Service Lands.  The 2024 start and finish line is located at Rock Canyon Park, Pavilion #4, instead of the Rock Canyon trailhead due to construction at the trailhead.  Please see the map for directions.
