Calling all Super heroes! Join us in the fight to help the less fortunate and the homeless!


Sugar Rim Bar (SRB) is proud to host our first Annual 2019 Super Hero Race/Fun Walk for charity. The 5K run/walk will take place on Sunday, June 2, 2019. This chipped 5K run and fun will benefit the everyday heroes of our community and Change For Good, Inc. a local nonprofit whose mission is to help those in need. The funds collected will assist Change 4 Good’s Annual Back to School Community Day and book bag distribution.

When: Sunday June 2, 2019 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM Rain or Shine!

Who: All ages welcomed

Cost: $35 rate for Adults (Ages 13 and older) $20.00 for children (Ages 5 to 12) Late Registration June 1-2, 2019 is $50.00 per runner and $30.00 per child ages 5-12. Children ages 4 and under are free.

Where: Belle Haven Park, George Washington Memorial Pkwy, Alexandria, VA 22307

Attire: Wear any and all Super Hero Costumes!

 

Event details and schedule
The 5K Run/Walk will begin at 7:00 am.
The course is out-and-back starting and finishing at Belle Haven Park at the water fountain. Once leaving the start line you will hang a right entering the onto the Mount Vernon trail to Jones Point at a turnaround point and back to the finish. There will be two water stations one at the halfway point and the other at the turn around point. All racers will stay upon the trail there will be no blocking of traffic.

Packet Pick- up and Registration Schedule

It's a great idea to pick up your Super Hero packet before the event on Sunday, June  2nd, 2019. Below are the dates, times, and locations:

• Friday, May 31st, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Market SW – located at the Bar 4th & M Street S.W. Washington, DC 20024
• Friday May 31st,  from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Belle Haven Park, George Washington Memorial Pkwy, Alexandria, VA 22307
• Registration / packet pick-up opens at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 2nd at Belle Haven Park, George Washington Memorial Pkwy, Alexandria, VA 22307

 

Getting There

From Virginia on the Capital Beltway
Take Exit 1 headed south on Richmond Hwy., Route 1. Once on Route 1, stay in the right lane to take the next exit for Fort Hunt Rd. Once on the exit ramp, you’ll need to stay in the left lanes, bearing left and passing through the traffic light across Route 1 to get onto Ft. Hunt Rd. After 1.1 miles, turn left at a traffic light near the shopping center onto Belle View Blvd. At the end of Belle View Blvd., after 0.6 miles turn left on the George Washington Parkway, and move to the right lane. Turn right into Belle Haven, then immediately turn left toward parking areas. Start from the water fountain near the restrooms.

From Maryland on the Capital Beltway
Be in the right lane when coming over the Wilson Bridge, and take the first exit toward Mt. Vernon. The exit ramp actually puts you on Church St. but at the traffic light you can turn right onto Washington St. As Washington St. crosses over the beltway and leaves Alexandria, it becomes the George Washington Parkway. After 1.25 miles, turn left into Bell Haven. Immediately turn left again toward parking areas. Start from the water fountain near the restrooms.
