Description

Join us on Saturday, October 21, 2017 in Bluemont Park, Arlington, VA for the inaugural Run for Gold 5K/1 Mile (Fun Run/Walk), presented by Fil-Am Racing and Philippine-American Foundation for Charities.

The Run for Gold 5K/1 Mile will also be held to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Bataan Death March and to honor the Filipino and American service members who sacrificed their lives during this tragic moment in Filipino-American history.

Race Day Pricing - $40. October 21, 2017.

Registration Reminders
- Online Registration closes at 5:00 PM on October 20, 2017.
- You may register in-person on Race Day, October 21, 2017 from 6:30-7:30 AM.
- All registered 5K participants will receive finisher's medals and a souvenir race shirt.

T-Shirts, Medals and Awards
- All 5K race registrants will receive running tech shirts 
- Medals will be provided for all 5K finishers 
- Awards will be available to the following 5K finishers:
  -Top Three Male and Female (trophies)
  -Top Military Male and Female (trophies)
  -First place in each 10-year age group (merchandise)

PAFC and FAR for Fil-Am Vets

This event is produced by the Philippine-American Foundation for Charities and Fil-Am Racing.

Proceeds from our event will partially benefit Filipino-American Veterans who served in World War II. 2017 marks a major milestone in Fil-Am history in that April 9, 2017 will be the 75th Anniversary of the Bataan Death March. President Barack Obama signed the bill awarding Fil-Am soldiers who served in WW II the Congressional Gold Medal. The Congressional Gold Medal is the highest civilian honor in the US. In accordance with Public Law No: 114-265, a gold medal has been struck to honor the Fil-Am veterans of WW II in recognition of their valiant service.
