Young Life Louisa 5k

Join us for the first annual Young Life Louisa 5k sponsored by Bethel Builders! Race starts at 7:45AM beside the Louisa County Courthouse on Main Street - at Courthouse Square, Louisa, VA 23093.

What is Young Life?

Young Life is a world-class organization for adolescents.  We enter the world of high school kids in Louisa, focusing on what matters to them – fun, adventure, friendship and a sense of significance.  In doing so, we earn the privilege of talking to them about something that we think matters most of all – the truth about God and His love for us.  When Young Life leaders share God’s love with kids, they begin to see that their lives have great worth, meaning and purpose.  This is the first step of a lifelong journey; the choices high schoolers make today will shape them as the future small-business owners, teachers, nurses, mothers, and fathers of Louisa County.  Young Life leaders are entering into Louisa County High Schoolers’ lives - building relationships with them, supporting them, loving them, and demonstrating God’s love to them on a daily basis.

How will the Young Life 5k help?

It is our hope that EVERY kid in Louisa County would have the chance to experience a life-changing week of Young Life camp.  Each year, Young Life Louisa raises $2,000-$4,000 in camp scholarships to give to high schoolers who need financial assistance to pay for camp.  100% of the race entry fees and additional donations will be used for providing financial assistance to students wishing to attend Young Life camp this summer.  Participating in the Young Life Louisa 5k will make it possible for many more LCHS students to experience the fun, adventure, and discovery that is unique to Young Life camp.

For current high school students who run or walk in the 5k and plan to sign up to attend camp in 2016:

• The race registration fee will be deducted from the cost of the 2018 summer camp trip!  If you wish to donate your registration fee to another person, please email YoungLifeLouisaVa@gmail.com with the specifics.  Additionally, during registration you will have the option to make a donation over and above your registration fee.  If you wish to make an additional donation, follow the instructions when prompted.

For any runner/walker who is not attending Young Life camp but participates in the 5k:

• The $30 registration fee will be used to help kids who want to attend camp but need financial assistance to do so.  If you wish to donate your registration fee to a specific person, please email YoungLifeLouisaVa@gmail.com with the specifics.  If no student is specified the donation will go where it is most needed.  Additionally, during registration you will have the option to make a donation over and above your registration fee.  If you wish to make an additional donation, follow the instructions when prompted.

Friends, family and community members who can’t run or walk in the 2018 5k:

• Just click “DONATE” above and your donation will go where it is most needed.  If you’d like to designate your donation for a specific camper, please email YoungLifeLouisaVa@gmail.com with the specifics.

Additional donations can be made to support high schoolers from LCHS having the chance to go to Young Life camp!  Donations can be made by anyone – not just race participants!  Just click “DONATE” now!
