5K Great Neck Run for Haiti and 1 Mile Fun Run (Mardi Gras in May) (Draft)

Two Great Races for One Great Night.  New this year, starting at 6:00 pm there will be a 1 mile fun run on Church property for runners 5th grade and below.  All 1 mile runners will receive Mardi Gras surprises.  5K run/walk will start at 7:00 pm as runner/walker will run through Laurel Cove Neighborhood and race medals will be given to Men and Women (top three in each group) ages 12 and under, 13-18, 19-29, 30-49, 50 and over.  Adult participants will receive a PEACECYCLE reusable multi-use bag made in Haiti from water bags.  Students will receive a PEACECYCLE pencil bag and lunch bag.  Following the run, enjoy a creole dinner of black beans, rice, hot dogs and lemonade.  Quench your thirst with a CASH BAR with beer, wine, Haitian rum & coke and specialty drinks.  Dance the evening away to the DJ sounds of today's best music. Dress in your best Mardi Gras attire, all participants will receive beads to help celebrate.
