COASTAL EDGE SURF FOR THE CURE ALOHA 5K

LOCATION: 2nd Street on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk

 Enjoy a  beautiful run on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk during The 20th Annual Coastal Edge Surf For The Cure.  All finishers will receive a custom medal, a Coastal Edge Surf For The Cure Aloha 5k race tee, and a prize package will be awarded to the first overall male and female finishers. The race will start on 2nd street on the boardwalk and run down to 24th street for the turnaround. On-site registration will be under the Coastal Edge tent near the start line on the boardwalk. Enjoy the fast, flat, and out and back course along the Virginia Beach Boardwalk with a view of the morning sun over the scenic oceanfront. Course marshals will be positioned at key points and a water station will be set up near the turnaround. Pro surf competitions and morning yoga will be underway shortly after the race. 

Online Registration: 
$35 until October 5, 2023 at midnight

$40 walk-up registration at packet pick up on Friday, October 6th from 6 pm-8 pm at Coastal Edge 316 21st street and at the start line under the Coastal Edge tent from 5:30 am - 5:45 am on race morning on the boardwalk at 2nd street.

Packet Pickup Party:
Packet pickup will be held on Friday, October 6th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Coastal Edge 316 21st street. Packet pickup will include live music, the Coastal Edge Surf For The Cure Silent Auction, The Coastal Edge Skate For The Cure, free dinner from Aloha Snacks, and beer tents. 100% of the silent auction and beer sales proceeds will go directly to local women battling breast cancer to help with their out-of-pocket medical expenses.

CASH OR CREDIT ONLY will be accepted for walk-up registration.

Inclement Weather
Applicants acknowledge that they are participating in an outdoor event, which is subject to sudden changes in weather, including thunderstorms, high winds, etc. Applicant acknowledges that no refunds will be made as a result of inclement weather during Coastal Edge Surf For The Cure Aloha 5k.

The Cause:
MISSION: To help raise awareness of Breast Cancer, support 10 local current breast cancer patients, and provide a day of fun for survivors and anyone in the community interested in supporting a great cause. 

This year The Coastal Edge Surf For the Cure Presented by the Wahine Surf Club will be selecting 10 local breast cancer patients to receive a financial gift.  During these economic hard times, we would like to help lessen out-of-pocket medical expenses for those in need. 

We are asking our community to nominate a person whom they feel could use some help during these difficult times. Please send us your nomination with a brief explanation of their story via email to   wahinesurfclub@outlook.com by Oct 31, 2023. Our selection of the 10 recipients will be from all entries received and winners will be notified.
