Dear Coach and Athletic Director:
Your middle school is invited to participate in the 16th Annual Apple Harvest Cross Country Invitational to be held at James Wood on Saturday, September 28, 2019 with races beginning at 9:30 AM. We hope to exceed last year’s competition in which we had fourteen teams, so if you know of other schools who may wish to compete, please feel free to pass along this information. We will also continue the open races for students in grades 1 through 6 that will follow the middle school races. We plan to have chip timing again in this year’s races.
Please fill out, detach, and return the bottom portion of this letter indicating your intentions or simply respond by email. Entry fees will remain $80.00 for the boys and girls races (or $40.00 per division if running only boys or girls) and are not due until September 1. Entries will again be unlimited. More detailed information will be mailed to those schools attending in early August.
Our races have a reputation for being among the most organized, exciting, and spectator- friendly meets in Northern Virginia, and along with the youth races, a meet that promotes the sport in our schools. We hope you will join us and contribute to the growth of distance running in the Shenandoah Valley.
