Q: How does the virtual run work?
A: Once you register for either event, the next step is to complete the 5 mile distance and earn your finisher medal. The 5 miles that you register for can be completed at any location of your choice, and with the Race Anywhere option can even be completed indoors on a treadmill ! You have from April 17th until April 25th to complete your event
Q: How do I get my bib?
A: You are able to print your personalized bib from your original registration email or by logging onto RunSignup, navigating to Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration
Q: Hey! I want to change my event (Conquer the Valley or Race Anywhere)
Q: How do I submit my results?
A: Easy! Click on Results, Submit Virtual Results
, and then Look Up your registration in order to submit your own results
Q: Do I have to use RaceJoy?
A: No, you don't have to download the RaceJoy App. You can run the 5 miles using your own time keeper and then submit your results as described above if you so choose. For the Conquer the Valley course, If you have downloaded the free RaceJoy app, it will keep you on the course via GPS. If you stray off the course, it will tell you that you may have "gone off course" The app also has a few cool audio clips that will intermittently play as you pass by certain landmarks. The course will not have physical markers but when there is a decision point for which way to continue, the audio clip will sound with the direction you need. By using the RaceJoy App, the start line is marked and the mile markers are built-in, as well as the fun audio clips. If you use the app on your own Race Anywhere course, it will cue you when you've reached each mile, and when you finish 5 miles, you can submit your time right from the app. Just remember to press Start when you begin your run!
Whichever way you choose, we are proud that you have chosen to engage in your own perseverance and determination just like our Continental Army did on the very same grounds!
Q: Where do I pick up my swag?
Q: Where do my participation fees go?
A: After expenses are paid (t-shirt, medal, shipping, etc.) all proceeds will go to Valley Forge National Historical Park for visitor experience and programming enhancements. You are making a difference for those who will come to experience the park and its awesomeness long after you logged your miles.
Q: Do I have to submit my results?
A: No, submitting results is not required, but seeing your name on the virtual results board is priceless! For those who don't wish to enter the time for your 5 mile journey, you can still indicate that you completed the 5 miles without providing an actual time. We'll just assume you're stealth....
Q: How do I keep track of my time?
A: The easiest way is by downloading the RaceJoy app because of the audio cues it will give you; and once you complete the 5 miles, your time can be submitted right then and there from the app. Other methods include using a good old-fashioned stopwatch or any tracking tool such as Garmin, Strava, Runkeeper, etc.
